Caliper Canada Privacy Statement

At Caliper Canada, we are committed to protecting your privacy, and support a general policy of openness about how we collect, use and disclose your personal information.

Caliper Canada provides services to employers or other organizations considering a hiring, developmental or promotional decision about an individual by conducting an assessment based on responses to the Caliper Profile. The Caliper Profile is a comprehensive, non-discriminatory personality assessment instrument that measures an individual’s characteristics, potential and motivation.

The purpose of this Privacy Statement is to inform you about Caliper Canada’s practices relating to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information that may be provided through access to or use of our websites or services or that may otherwise be collected by us. By completing the Caliper Profile you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

We strongly recommend that you take the time to read this Privacy Statement and retain it for future reference.

Personal Information

For the purpose of this Privacy Statement, “personal information” means information about an identifiable individual, but does not include the name, title or business address or telephone number of an employee of an organization.

What Personal Information We Collect

The personal information that we may collect includes at least some of the following:

  • Contact information (such as name, address, e-mail address and telephone number in a non-business capacity);
  • Proof of identity (such as a signature);
  • Demographic information (such as your date of birth or employment history);
  • Responses to the Caliper Profile Form questionnaire;
  • Written assessments created from the responses to the Caliper Profile Form questionnaire.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Perform a personality profile assessment for your employer or the organization considering you for a hiring, developmental or promotional position;
  • Provide the employer or organization considering you for a position with a report of the assessment based on responses to the Caliper Profile. Caliper Canada does not disclose personal information collected on the Caliper Profile to any other third parties. Caliper Canada may cross reference your completed Caliper Profile with other Caliper Profiles completed by you which have been retained to ensure consistency;
  • Research, develop, manage, protect and improve our assessment services;
  • Communicate the results of the assessment with the employer or the organization considering you for a hiring, developmental or promotional position, both verbally and in writing;
  • Analyze aggregate information generated by the completed Caliper Profiles to create population analysis and benchmarks through Caliper Headquarters in New Jersey, U.S.A; and
  • Bill the employer or organization considering you for a hiring, developmental or promotional position for our products and services;

When We Disclose Your Personal Information

We do not disclose personal information collected from the completed Caliper Profile Form.

Caliper Canada discloses the results of its assessment (in a confidential written document and verbal communication) only to your employer or the organization considering you for a hiring, developmental or promotional decision except as described below. Information identifying individuals who complete Caliper Profile Forms will not be disclosed to any other third party for this purpose or be revealed in population analysis or benchmark reports.

Caliper Canada also reserves the right to disclose and/or transfer personal information to a third party in the event of a proposed or actual purchase, sale, lease, merger, amalgamation or any other type of acquisition, disposal or financing of all or any portion of Caliper Canada or of any of the business or assets or shares of Caliper Canada or a division thereof, provided that the transferor agrees to restrict its use or disclosure of the personal information to the purposes set out in this Privacy Statement, except upon further notification to you.

Knowledge and Consent

An individual shows their consent for Caliper Canada to collect, use and disclose personal information of identified purposes, including those set out in this Privacy Statement, by completing the Caliper Profile.

Caliper Canada reserves the right to disclose personal information to a third party if a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order legally requires or authorizes us to do so.

You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to Caliper Canada’s contractual obligations to the employer or other organization that has retained Caliper Canada to conduct your assessment. If you wish to withdraw your consent at any time, please contact the Caliper Privacy Officer at 1-888-701-0069 or info@calipercanada.com. We will inform you of the implications of withdrawing consent.

Cookies

When you visit our website, we place a text file called a “cookie” in the browser directory of your computer’s hard drive. A cookie is a small piece of information that a website can store on your web browser and later retrieve. The cookie cannot be read by any website other than the one that set up the cookies. The cookie does not store any personal information. Some browsers can be set to reject all cookies. If you choose to modify your browser in this manner, the pages of this website will not function properly.

How We Protect Your Personal Information

Caliper Canada makes commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that personal information collected from you is protected against loss and unauthorized access. This protection applies in relation to information stored in both electronic and hard copy form. Access to your personal information is restricted to selected employees or representatives. In addition, Caliper Canada employs generally accepted information security techniques, including firewalls, access control procedures and cryptography, to protect personal information against loss and unauthorized access.

Retention of Your Personal Information

Your personal information will be retained by Caliper Canada and its headquarters in New Jersey, U.S.A. for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected and to comply with applicable laws, and your consent to such purposes(s) remains valid after termination of our relationship with you. For greater certainty, Caliper Canada retains all raw data and assessments to create benchmarks and population tests. No personal information is disclosed in this process. In addition, Caliper Canada has established retention guidelines and will retain completed Caliper Profile Forms in digitally encrypted form for a period of 5 years to ensure consistency between new and prior Caliper Profile Forms which have completed by the same individual.

Access Requests

Upon request, we will inform an individual of the existence, use and disclosure of his or her personal information. We will provide individuals with access to their completed Caliper Profile answer sheet. Requests for information about completed assessment forms or individual developmental guides should be made of the employer or organization that ordered the assessment from Caliper Canada.

Modifications

Caliper Canada reserves the right to modify this Privacy Statement at any time without notice. The Privacy Statement posted at any time or from time to time via this website shall be deemed to be the Privacy Statement then in effect.
